Shed Restoration Program Update:
Restoration of H and I Sheds commenced in January 2023. All your favourite traders from H and I Sheds including fruit & veg, organics and specialty stalls have temporarily moved just across Queen Street to C and D Sheds while shed restoration and market infrastructure works occur. Are dogs allowed at Queen Vic Market?
In accordance with Food Safety Victoria and the Food Act (1984), no animals, with the exception of guide dogs and assistance dogs, are permitted in indoor food areas of the Market which include: Dairy Produce Hall, Meat & Fish Hall, A Shed, B Shed, C Shed and D Shed.

How do I obtain a refund or exchange an item that I have purchased from the Market?
You will need to obtain a refund or organise an exchange with the trader that you purchased the item from directly. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, please contact the Australia Competition and Consumer Commission or Consumer Affairs Victoria on 1300 558 181.
How can I become a trader at the Day Market?
All applications to become a stallholder at the Market will need to be submitted via our Become a Trader page. Once the application has been submitted, it takes approximately 6 weeks to review. Should you be successful, a member of our team will be in contact.
How can I become a trader at the Night Market?
The applications to become a trader at the Night Market are posted on our website during application times. If applications are open, you will find them here.
Can I film or take photographs at the Market?
Any filming or photography at the Market requires a permit. You can apply for a filming permit here. Please allow up to 5 business days for the permit application to be reviewed and approved.
How do I perform at the Market?
A permit is required to busk or perform at the Market. All performers must first seek a City of Melbourne busking permit, and then visit the Information Hub at Queen Victoria Market located at Shed F, Shop 1 to pay for their QVM permit.
I would like a job at the Market, are there any vacancies available?
To obtain a job with a stall holder or shop owner, you will need to approach them personally as Queen Victoria Market Pty Ltd does not provide an employment service for any of its tenants.
Where are the toilets located?
Toilets are located along Queen Street, String Bean Alley (Peel street end), outside the Queen's Food Hall, and on Victoria Street (facing A-Shed).
Do Market traders accept credit cards?
Most traders accept credit cards as well as cash. It is recommended to confirm with the specific stall holder you enquire about directly. You can browse stall holders at QVM via the Meet our Traders page. Most will have their contact details listed.

Can I book a wheelchair at the Market?
Yes, the Market's wheelchair is available to hire from the Market's Information Hub, located at F Shed Shop 1 (on the corner of Queen Street and F Shed). The Information Hub opens at 9am on Market days. We do not take bookings for the Market's wheelchair, so we advise you to try and arrive early to avoid disappointment.

If you have lost an item at the Market, please fill in our contact form. You can also visit the Market's Information Hub, located on the corner of Queen Street and F Shed and the friendly team can assist you with your enquiry.
Extreme Heat Policy
When the Bureau of Meteorology forecasts temperatures of 36 degrees or more for the following day, the Market's Extreme Heat Policy will be activated and Market traders will have the option to close from 1pm. On these days in which we enact the Extreme Heat Policy, we encourage you to shop early!
